Hi! I’m Jadine!
Educator, Breathwork Facilitator, and Nervous System–Obsessed Spaceholder and Founder of The Breathing Teacher
I’m a certified trauma-informed breathwork teacher, mind-body medicine facilitator, and applied educational neuroscience practitioner—aka, someone who’s spent the last two decades learning how to help humans breathe again, in every sense of the word.
I wasn’t always this grounded. In 2013, I was a burnt out educator who had no concept of how to take care of myself, and I ended up in the hospital for dehydration and fatigue. With no understanding of how to take care of myself, poor diet, and an exercise plan that was non-existent-I knew something needed to change, and fast.
I decided to start practicing yoga, and that became the gateway to my spiritual and wellness journey.
It was sitting in the dark yoga studio in Brooklyn, New York, that I learned how to breathe. Years later, I found myself in another dark yoga studio in Indianapolis, where I knew it was time for me to deepen my own yoga journey-hence-signing up for a Yoga Teacher Training in Los Angeles. It took me 2 years to integrate the practices I had learned before I felt ready to share with the world.
In February 2019, The Breathing Teacher was born.
It turns out the yoga teacher training was just the beginning. I went on to continue to learn and deepen my own understanding, signing up for a Graduate Program through Butler University called Applied Educational Neuroscience.
What started as a quest to learn how to better support my students, ended up being a gateway for me to support my own nervous system-and a principle I teach to all my mentees.
We must pour into ourselves, before we can do that for others.
In addition to my work at The Breathing Teacher, I have spent 15 years as a Special Education Schoolteacher and eventually a District Coach. I’ve taught and coached in classrooms, boardrooms, and sacred spaces, teaching the tools of social emotional learning and the nervous system and leading others back to regulation, resilience, and presence.
